OOC: Moving all pcs involved with watching Vi about to be lynched.

A little over half of the festival goers are either part of the mob or just watching.

Upon hearing Teddy cry out for help, Vi tries to break free to help him. Yet, Deputy Stryker keeps a tight grip on her arm. Coach Driver moves forward, restraining her further, while trying to growl through clenched teeth, "Go with it! We're getting you to safety..."

"Let me go!" she cries out.

Meanwhile...

"I don’t know," Dane says to Brad. "We were trying to find my dad to give him something when we heard people shouting that Vi was a D-bee." He hesitates, then asks, "Do you know what that really means? I’ve got ideas, but mostly just stories people tell kids to scare them into behaving." His jaw tightens as he watches Vi being pulled through the crowd. "She’s still our friend. She’s not a monster. I mean, she can be a pain sometimes, but who isn’t?" He gestures for Brad to keep talking while he hurries after his dad. "Come on—I’ve got information that might matter."

Maya seems quite interested as she sticks closer to Dane and Miss Hoffman, trying to catch any information, camera and notepad already in hand. Yet, some of the crowd keeps getting in the way of them getting close.

In front of the Bottoms Up, Frank yells back inside at Felix, "Dad, you need to come here. Something isn't right." He looks around for anyone with answers.

Johnny quickly runs outside with him while his dad peeks out of the door, "You can go check it out, but I'm not getting involved in drunken drama. Stay out of trouble, son." Felix advises as returns to catch up on orders with his wife and Megana.

As Vi's drug out of the school by the coach and Dane's dad, Marshal circles around and says loudly, "I'll head back and try to help Teddy!" He looks terrified as he runs back for the school's front doors, but there are too many people flooding out of the doors for him to even breath, let alone pass. He's pushed back out as some of the crowd begins chanting, "Burn her! Burn her!" One man pushes Marshal down and just steps over him. Luckily, he scrambles to safety before being trampled.

Deputy Stryker tries to shout out to calm everyone down, "Listen up, folks! Hey!" Yet, he's either not loud enough or the crowd doesn't care.

Suddenly, a loud bang assaults everyone's ears as Sheriff Ericson arrives in time with his smoking pistol aimed at the sky, "You heard my deputy! Listen!" his authoritative voice booms as the crowds noise becomes a dull roar.

"We're taking Violet Trent into custody under suspicion of practicing demonic abilities as well as suspicion of being a dimensional being... or an offspring of one. She'll receive a fair trial. That is all." Deputy Stryker announces as he nods to Coach Driver, who seems to give the deputy a grave look.

"Suspicion? We saw it!" One of the crowd shouts.

"She has purple eyes," another shouts, "That's a d-bee mutation!"

The coach leans in as the deputy asks Vi to turn around while he prepares to cuff her, "We'll figure this out, Vi. I won't let them hurt you."

"Vi, I need the truth from you," the deputy starts as the sheriff approaches, "Did you know you could do that?" as he glances around and spots Dane with a worried glance, very briefly shaking his head to stay away.

Mr. Swenson arrives from up the street, almost out of breath, "Where's Teddy? I heard he's in trouble!" Only to be answered by the coach nodding towards the school. Martin runs inside, the crowd parting for him to enter. Seconds later, "You f*)(ing monsters! My son! Why?" he cries out, revealing possibly the worst.

Johnny, who usually grins when misfortune greets Ted, remains steely eyed, almost terrified. Frank's other best friend could be dead.

Mr. Swenson exits the school, walking down the steps as the crowd parts even further, carrying the bloodied, limp body of his son, who's beaten beyond recognition, "I need a doctor! Doctor Lewis! He's still alive!" He spots Brad. "You! Save him! Please!" Tears in his eyes, "He's all I have left." Brad notices that Teddy's face is caved in.

"Violet Trent, you are being detained under suspicion of hiding your d-bee status and practicing demonic abilities. Anything you do or say can and probably will be used against you." Deputy Stryker, for once, seems to fumble around with the cuffs, as though this is the last thing he wants to be doing. Deputies Chala and Kickman arrive to assist.

Megana runs up to join up with Frank and the others..."the fuck why do they have Vi in cuffs and what the hell happened?!" Megana looks concerned and worried as she had joined them.

Frank points at Teddy while he's being carried off. "Apparently she did that to Teddy. I dont know how and someone mentioned her eyes being purple. What in the actual fuck happened?" He says with a shocked tone.

Megana flinches seeing Teddy "yikes.....did he antagonize her....gods it looks like he got kicked by a horse" she looks in shock "purple eyes? What does that have to do with bring a Db?....the fuck is a DB...."

Deputy Stryker’s look brings Dane’s steps to a slow halt as his brain analyzes the new problem. He glances at Meg with a meaningful look, as if to ask, .oO Is it really the same Violet from the computer readout? Oo.

The sound of Teddy’s dad yelling snaps him out of what he was about to say. Probably for the best, since what he suspects would only incriminate Vi and Dusty in the eyes of an angry mob. His mind quickly runs through the probable outcomes. Teddy needs medical attention. Dane’s moderate first-aid training will not help much compared to trained doctors or paramedics like Brad and his dad. He cannot help Vi right now. .oO Can I distract the mob from their murderous intent? Oo.

Dane’s eyes flick toward where the obstacle course sits on the outskirts of town, then he dismisses it. .oO Too far. By the time I got there, it’d be too late and probably not loud enough. Oo. Finally, exasperated with himself, he asks out loud, “Anybody got any ideas on how to break up the crowd before they lynch Vi?”

Deputy Stryker’s look brings Dane’s steps to a slow halt as his brain analyzes the new problem. He glances at Meg with a meaningful look, as if to ask, oO(Is it really the same Violet from the computer readout?)Oo

Maya and Miss Hoffman stop with Dane. Meg frowns, gawking at Teddy, who's unrecognizable, helpless, which she's never seen him that way. She mouths the words, "No!" As tears rapidly saturate her vision.

Larry, the obstacle course master, blares out over his loudspeakers, "There seems to be some commotion drawing people towards main street. Does anyone have news?" loud enough for the entire area surrounding Fort Hammer, let alone the town itself.

Meg Hoffman falls to her knees, mortified at the whole situation, sobbing into her hands, "He didn't deserve THAT!"

Maya hesitantly snaps a few photos of the scene, understanding how personal the situation is for everyone present.

Meanwhile, Megana quickly joins Frank and Johnny, "The fuck! Why do they have Vi in cuffs and what the hell happened?" She concernedly asks.

Frank points at Teddy, "Apparently she did that to Teddy. I don't know how and someone mentioned her eyes being purple. What in the actual fuck happened?"

Megana flinches seeing Teddy, "Yikes! Did he antagonize her? Gods! It looks like he got kicked by a horse!" her obvious shock at seeing the state Teddy's in. Then she asks, "Purple eyes? What does that have to do with being a d-bee? What the fuck is a d-bee?"

Sam, Steve and Emily catch up. Sam quickly answers, "Dimensional being. During the cataclysm, hundreds of years ago, aliens, demons, monsters, ghosts, spirits and malevolent entities came through the portals caused by the glowing lines. Since they came from portals from other dimensions, they were called d-bees. Some looked like us, but with supernatural powers, which only come from a source of pure evil. Most were just aliens or monsters. Sadly, the most attractive are usually d-bees or offspring of them.

"Although, mutated humans, from radiation, are also considered to be d-be...."

"Okay, we don't need the whole history of them, Sam," Steve cuts him off, staring up at Teddy. "Damn... She did that?" He takes another sip of the drink that Frank had made him. He nods, "Not bad, buddy. I like you," without even shifting his gaze at the chaos unfolding.

"And I wanted to learn how to do what she does!" Emily looks terrified at the thought that she could have been next.

Back in front of the school, Dane’s eyes flick toward where the obstacle course sits on the outskirts of town, then he dismisses it. oO(Too far. By the time I got there, it’d be too late and probably not loud enough)Oo Finally, exasperated with himself, he asks out loud, “Anybody got any ideas on how to break up the crowd before they lynch Vi?”

A few members of the crowd hear Dane. One woman shouts, "That ain't happening... We have to protect our own." Others, near the woman, begin inquiring what Dane asked.

Another shouts, "Are you a d-bee lover?" glaring at Dane and friends.

A third, a Fort Hammer local, named Bart Pullman, glances over, "Watch it kid! Or I'll do to you what happened with that shitty Swenson kid!"

Only a split second passes before Deputy Chala wrestles the man down, "Under admission of guilt, you're under arrest for the attempted murder of Ted Swenson. And Bart, if he dies, we'll string you up!" The drunken Bart never saw it coming as he's practically hogtied by the former rodeo queen, now law enforcement. Bart remains silent.

Kickman is forced to get in Martin Swenson's path. Holding up his palms towards Marty as he carries his nearly dead son, "Marty... He'll see justice." He looks back, spotting Brad, "We NEED A MEDIC!"

Another member of the crowd, "Why are WE being arrested for..."

"ENOUGH!" Booms Lord Stein, who's approaching from across the street. "This festival is OVER! Everyone not arrested, get out of here and go home! Anyone with blood on them stays for questioning or will be charged with eluding authorities! This is not HIS way and is just plain evil! Has nothing I taught you folks mean anything?"

"Nooo!" a female screams from across the street. Upon looking, everyone sees Kendal losing complete composure upon seeing Teddy's state and her best friend, who's now being escorted to the Justice Center, "Vi didn't do anything! I DID! Arrest me!"

Mr. Swenson approaches Dane, Brad, Maya and Miss Hoffman. No one has ever seen that man beg, until now, "Please Greenwood, save him."

"The Festival is canceled... Wait! Are they arresting the damn drunkard? Hey, Frank, do you think it's not Vi who did that but... that bastard?" Megana asks, worriedly glancing from Sam to Frank.

The color drains from Dane’s face, and his eyes widen at the mindless anger being aimed at him. Ignoring the outburst, he drops to a knee in front of Meg Hoffman, an earlier conversation flashing through his mind—Teddy’s dad calling her a d-bee. “Meg,” he says softly, trying to catch her eyes, “We need to get out of here. We’re not safe. Come on, let’s get to the library.” He reaches for her hands and tries to help her stand so he can guide her away from the crowd. He looks briefly towards Vi wishing he could do something for her.

Frank stands dumbfounded not sure what to do next. "I dont know if she did it or not I was busy inside with customers. But its not something I'd ever think she'd do." He manages to get out.
