Brad pauses for a moment in confusion and disbelief. "... what?" Turning towards the school he mutters "Vi? A D-Bee? What are they talking about, that makes no sense."

Beyond the confusion, Brad is concerned. There's what looks to be an angry mob forming, one that is targeting Vi and Teddy, but what can he do? He can't fight that many people, nor are they likely to listen to him if he tries to talk them down. Hopefully the Sheriff and his deputies can break things up quickly.

The mob increases it's surge into the school; at any given moment, no less than six people trying to squeeze through the school's double door entryway. Either the doorway will buckle or the people will begin crushing each other. He spots Miss Hoffman and Dane running towards the door, then stop for a moment, pondering their life choices.

OOC: naw, Mobs just tend to be stupid. I recall reading a quote that said 'A mobs intelligence is equal to that of the smartest person involved divided by the number of people in the mob'. Or to quote K in Men in Black, "A person is smart. People are dumb panicky animals and you know it."

Brad runs over to Dane and Miss Hoffman. "Any idea what started ...this?" he asks them, gesturing towards the surging crowd.

"Yeah, I think you're right." He lets her lead the way. "I don't know what we're going to do once we get in there. I mean, Vi and Ted can be a pain sometimes, but I've grown up around them. I wouldn't want to see a mob hurt them. Even if they did something wrong, that should be up to the Sheriff and the town council." Dane keeps thinking out loud as they hurry around the corner of the building toward the back entrance. oO(How is this all connected?)Oo The question keeps circling as he tries to fit the pieces together.

Brad runs over to Dane and Miss Hoffman. "Any idea what started ...this?" he asks them, gesturing towards the surging crowd. Maya follows closely behind, catching up as she tries to catch her breath. Miss Hoffman looks just as concerned as Dane, staring at the crowd surging into the school..

Seconds later, the people at the front door begin flooding back out. The people form a corridor to allow Coach Driver, who is shouting for people to clear the way, Dane's dad, Deputy Stryker, who's pulling Vi behind her, and Marshal, who is behind Vi, making sure no one slips between them. Dane notices his dad has his hand ready on his service weapon.

"I don’t know," Dane says to Brad. "We were trying to find my dad to give him something when we heard people shouting that Vi was a Deebee." He hesitates, then asks, "Do you know what that really means? I’ve got ideas, but mostly just stories people tell kids to scare them into behaving." His jaw tightens as he watches Vi being pulled through the crowd. "She’s still our friend. She’s not a monster. I mean, she can be a pain sometimes, but who isn’t?" He gestures for Brad to keep talking while he hurries after his dad. "Come on—I’ve got information that might matter."
