Liz grins, her eyes brightening with a sudden, restless tension. "This I gotta see," she says, her voice laced with quiet excitement.
The prospect of watching Syn in action pulls at her curiosity. Behind her sharp focus, her mind fires with a deep, instinctive hunger for knowledge, a drive to understand him, to parse the secrets of his kind. She thrives on discovery, drawn to nature's raw mechanisms far more than the unpredictable mess of human nature. Plants she understands, yet, people remain a riddle. But Sin is a different variable entirely.
Beside her, Brad stands motionless, his gaze locked on the blocked convoy. Oo(Will Sin need to transform to pull the truck out... or is he still at full strength even in human form?)oO Brad wonders, his heart thumping heavily against his ribs as he waits for the first move.
Larry's laborers retreat in silent awe as Sin casually strolls past them toward the massive rig. Reaching the rear hauler, he rests a palm against the cold steel chassis, tests a handhold, and simply begins to walk backward. With barely a strain in his posture, the towering vehicle creeps backward in his wake.
"Release the brake!" Larry hollers, his voice cracking slightly.
A heartbeat later, the pneumatic brakes disengage with a sharp, shrill hiss of compressed air. Sin continues his steady, impossible pull, rolling the multi-ton machine down the dirt track as if it were a toy wagon. He brings the hauler to a smooth halt beside the wide-eyed onlookers, tilting his head. "How far back do you want it?"
Larry stands frozen in sheer amazement, scratching his head as his mind struggles to process the spectacle. "Well... we need to go back about two hundred yards. There's a clearing where we can turn the semi around. But... could you grab the trailer and spin it around so the boys can reconnect it? That would save us hours of trying to back these behemoths out."
"Sure thing, boss," Sin says, flashing a quick wink; a gesture he’s only just learned the meaning of.
He turns and resumes pulling the rear hauler toward a wide bend in the road. Larry's crew scrambles into action, quickly unhooking the main trailer and dropping its landing gear into the firm dirt. Sin trots to the rear, grips the frame, and smoothly swings the heavy trailer around on its axis until the hitch faces back the way they came.
One by one, Sin repeats the impossible feat for all four haulers. By the time they reach the last two, Brad and the Mountaineer help pull them backwards, inspired by the effortless rhythm. The entire Herculean task takes roughly three hours, barely denting their schedule as Frank bustles about, handing out hot, hastily prepared snacks to keep everyone's energy and spirits soaring.
With the rigs turned around, the heavy convoy embarks on the long, winding alternate route up into the mountains. The narrow road climbs higher, eventually offering a breathtaking overhead view of the far side of the ruined crossing. Gazing down from the cliffside, the sheer scale of the washed-out bridge becomes painfully clear—shedding a stark light on just how dire their situation truly was.
Steve pulls his Wastelander beside Brad, staring back toward the valley in disbelief. "I could have made that jump... but wow. That kid! It's unreal! He made it look like child's play."
