Darl, Gerard, Anastasia

{OOC: Mark, I'm assuming Gerard didn't have anything else to add since I haven't heard from you in a couple days, so I'm moving on with everyone having gone to bed and had sweet dreams. If there was something else, let me know.}

*CRACK* *CRACK* *CRACK*

A loud knocking echos through the two small rooms where Darl, Gerard, Anastasia, Jordan and The Redeemer spent the night. Everyone is instantly awake and momentarily struggling to make sense of where they've awakened. All remaining sleep haze is immediately banished by a loud man's voice coming from the other side of the door. "Come out now and leave your belongings where they are!"

Darl responds to the knocking by silently motioning for the others in his room to hand him their belongings/backpacks, as he mentally prepares to start casting a spell.

OOC: One of the walls leads to the hallway, and another to the adjoining room ... do we know what's in the adjoining room on the other side, and does the back wall presumably lead outside?

OOC: Going down the hall from the front door, Anastasia, Jordan and The Redeemer are on the left about four doors down. Darl and Gerard are directly across the hall from their. This hall goes pretty well straight down the middle of the building from side to side, so there may be one large room or multiple small rooms between the back walls of the rooms and the outside. It's also difficult to say what's on the other side of the wall. From Darl's previous explorations, he's relatively confident that the chapel is not too far behind the back wall of his room. He's not sure, though. There could be another room between his room and the chapel.

Gerard sees what Darl is doing and hands him his things and waits to see what happens next.

Not willing to leave his gear behind for search/seizure, and assuming the others feel the same, Darl grabs Gerard's gear and attempts to D-phase through the back wall of their room ... hoping to find himself in an empty chapel, but not really expecting it to be empty.

Anastasia being woke up with all the disturbance, asks "Whats going on here?"
Yawning and feeling well rested and quite anxious to speak with the other people awaits for someone to answer her. As she does, she grabs up her clothes so she can be ready to go.

Not willing to leave his gear behind for search/seizure, and assuming the others feel the same, Darl grabs Gerard's gear and attempts to D-phase through the back wall of their room ... hoping to find himself in an empty chapel, but not really expecting it to be empty.

Darl takes a deep breath and concentrates for a few seconds before stepping forward and walking through the wall. Emerging from his pass through the wall, he finds himself in a narrow, long, unlit room, rather than the chapel he was hoping for; on the up side, it is apparently devoid of anything alive. The room appears to be some sort of preparation and storage area. Off to his left there are two doorways covered in cloth. One, leads in the direction of the chapel; a small patch of light shining under the covering illuminates the floor. The other parallels the hallway that was outside the room he just exited. In the dim light coming through the door, extra chairs can be seen stacked haphazardly in one corner to his right; an old battered wooden podium sits collecting dust in another.

Gerard sees what Darl is doing and hands him his things and waits to see what happens next.

Gerard watches as Darl appears to become less solid and then step through the most decidedly solid wall...with his Gerard's gear. Now, what to do about the guards who are still waiting outside his door?

Anastasia being woke up with all the disturbance, asks "Whats going on here?" Yawning and feeling well rested and quite anxious to speak with the other people awaits for someone to answer her. As she does, she grabs up her clothes so she can be ready to go.

Jordan shrugs his shoulders after he extracts himself from his rumpled sleeping roll. "Your guess is as good as mine. Sounds like they're rather insistent, though, doesn't it? What do you think we should do?" He asks, hoping she has some insight. Looking within herself, Anastasia does not get any impressions about what this might be about.

In the dim light coming through the door, extra chairs can be seen stacked haphazardly in one corner to his right; an old battered wooden podium sits collecting dust in another.

"Even better ..." Darl thinks to himself, especially noting the amount of dust on the old podium. Apparently this room wasn't frequently used; it should provide a safe haven for at least the next hour or so.

Trying to remain silent, Darl stows the bags in a corner of the room, attempting to hide them behind the podium or under the stack of chairs in an attempt to keep them from being discovered by anyone who might happen into the room. That done, he heads over to look 'through' the curtains (i.e. thermal imaging) to see if there are currently any people either in the chapel, or in the room leading back towards the hallway adjoining their rooms.

If either appear empty, he'll use that exit to circle around, heading back towards the hallway as if he was simply returning to his room after an early-morning stroll.

That done, he heads over to look 'through' the curtains (i.e. thermal imaging) to see if there are currently any people either in the chapel, or in the room leading back towards the hallway adjoining their rooms.

With the curtain in the way, no thermal signatures can be detected beyond it since thermal imaging and infrared only apply to visible objects. The curtain leading towards where the chapel should be is slightly warmer than the surrounding walls which might indicate that the room beyond is slightly warmer than the one Darl is currently in.

Carefully peeking around the edge of the curtain leading to the chapel, Darl is not able to see anyone in the room beyond and no heat signatures emanate from the seating which might indicate recent use. Letting that curtain return to it's normal position Darl peaks around the other one as well and can see another large room with various tables and seats around it. Once again, no one is present.

Exiting via the chapel, Darl quickly walks around the building, his plan being to re-enter the hallway as if returning from a morning stroll ... interested in seeing just why the guards have so rudely decided to ruin a good sleep. "Hmmm ... did they at least wait until morning?" he wonders to himself.
